Six reasons Americans are shredding Hillary’s new VP pick Tim Kaine

Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, who was announced Hillary Clinton’s running mate on Friday, might be considered a “safe” pick to some, but that doesn’t mean that other people aren’t tearing him apart.

1. Forward.com called him the “Jewiest” pick for vice president.

In 2006, during his first year as governor of Virginia, he hosted the first ever Passover Seder in the governor’s mansion. He is apparently part of a group of friends that rotates hosting the Seder each year, and that year it happened to be his turn. It also wasn’t his first time hosting — his home had been a slot in the rotating group for several years before his election.

2. Kaine was the first senator to deliver an entire speech in Spanish on the Senate floor – New York Times.

According to records from the Senate Library, Mr. Kaine was the first senator to give a speech all in Spanish on the Senate floor. Senator James M. Inhofe, Republican of Oklahoma, spoke Spanish in brief statements on the floor in 2003 and 2005, and former Senator Mel Martinez, Republican of Florida, did the same in 2005.

3. He is a Washington insider and micromanager, according to emails read by POLITICO.

Kaine’s emails also show that throughout his single term as governor — Virginia law prohibits consecutive reelection bids — he and his staff were paying careful attention to his image in the media. He was after all a Democratic official in a state that before Obama’s 2008 victory had voted Republican in nine straight presidential elections. Obama had even considered him as a potential running mate. And while Kaine didn’t have an immediate job lined up when his four years were up as governor, his staff was insistent that he leave office with a “narrative” of his record just in case another political opportunity came along.

4. The former Virginia governor boycotted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before Congress and supported the Iran deal – Breitbart.

Kaine joined anti-Israel radicals in Congress in boycotting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech in March 2015 — the last plea of a beleaguered nation against an agreement that Iran is already violating with ballistic missile tests…

Kaine is supported by J Street, the George Soros-funded radical left-wing organization widely regarded as anti-Israel for its opposition to every attempt by Israel to defend itself against terror.

When Israel needed to be defended from an Iran deal that the Obama administration had no intent of enforcing, and that the ayatollahs had no intent of keeping, Tim Kaine joined a walkout, putting politics above principle and sound foreign policy.

5. Not even all liberals are happy with the pick of Kaine – POLITICO.

According to a report in the Huffington Post, Kaine has told Clinton he now opposes the TPP, though he praised the agreement as recently as Thursday.

The PCCC’s criticism comes after another progressive group, Democracy for America, denounced Kaine in a pre-emptive strike issued before Clinton even announced her pick.

“It should be disqualifying for any potential Democratic vice presidential candidate to be part of a lobbyist-driven effort to help banks dodge consumer protection standards and regulations designed to prevent banks from destroying our economy,” the group’s executive director Charles Chamberlain said in a statement Thursday, referencing a letter Kaine signed urging the Federal Reserve to consider easing regulations on regional banks.

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, who backed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary, was among those on the left who expressed disappointment with the decision, tweeting: “Att’n Hillary campaign: It’s not Trump who’ll beat u. It’s the people who are going to stay home.”

6. He’s an anti-gun crusader – Breitbart.

During the June 26 airing of Meet the Press, Kaine told Chuck Todd that he voted for an “assault weapons” ban before and “would likely vote for it again.” But he stressed that he believes “limitations on the size of magazines and ammunition clips” is the first step to take…

On September 8, 2015–just two weeks after Vester Lee Flanagan used a legally purchased firearm to kill news reporter Alison Parker on-air–Kaine put forward a bill to hold licensed gun dealers liable for the misuse of firearms. The bill was designed to “raise the bar” and require more “accountability” on the part of gun sellers.
