Michelle Obama gets a dig in at Hillary for ‘3 A.M. Phone Call’ ad that trashed her husband

It was all in good fun, of course.

It seems Hillary Clinton may never live down the 2008 “3 a.m. Phone Call” ad she ran against Democratic rival Barack Obama — the infamous ad talked about a dangerous world, before asking: “It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep. Who do you want answering the phone?”

And chief among those who haven’t forgotten appears to be the Obamas.

First lady Michelle Obama took what seemed to be a subtle shot at the presumptive Democratic nominee this week while talking about things she will not miss after vacating the White House during an episode of “Carpool Karaoke with James Corden,” according to The Washington Free Beacon.

Corden asked if having a 24-hour chef on staff is something Obama might miss.

“You know what, that’s nice,” she replied. “But the freedom that we’ll get in exchange for the privileges and the luxuries, I think – you know, seven and a half years, that’s enough luxuriating … I can make my own grilled cheese sandwich.”

Corden fantasized about having the option to pick up the phone at any time and order food.

“I’d be like, ‘Mark, the usual.’ It’s 3 a.m. and I want a milkshake and a grilled cheese!” he joked, setting the first lady up brilliantly to get a cleaver dig in at Clinton.

“That’s the 3 a.m. phone call you’ll be prepared for,” she responded with a laugh.

Was it a dig?
