Chick-fil-A fans are a devoted bunch but the restaurant chain may have just pushed some of them too far.
The chicken chain announced Monday that it would no longer be serving its spicy chicken biscuit, replacing it with another breakfast item featuring grilled chicken.
@johnshiflett While the Spicy Chicken Biscuit has been removed for the Egg White Grill, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich remains on the menu.

The collective gasps could be heard across the internet.
Chick-fil-a is getting rid of the spicy chicken biscuit. What did I do to deserve this? No longer chick-fil-bae..

Just found out Chick-Fil-A has eliminated the spicy chicken biscuit and sandwich from its menu. A sad day for America.

The new Egg White Grill which replaced the spicy breaded chicken sandwich, features grilled chicken breast, grilled egg whites, and American cheese served on a multigrain English muffin. It marks the first new breakfast item at Chick-fil-A since 2010.
“At Chick-fil-A, we’re constantly looking for innovative – and delicious – ways to meet the needs of our guests,” said David Farmer, vice president of menu strategy and development, in a statement. “We understand the importance of breakfast and the impact it has throughout the day. We tested the Egg White Grill in select markets across the country, including our busiest restaurants in Manhattan, and our customers gave us great feedback. The Egg White Grill is the perfect solution for our health-conscious customers looking for a grab-and-go breakfast.”
Many Chick-fil-A devotees, however, are not content to just sit by quietly while the switch is made.

. @ChickfilA cancelling the spicy chicken biscuit is a crime and the person who proposed this idea should be taken to trial
— mikeishonest (@mikeishonest) July 18, 2016
@mikeishonest @ChickfilA they did customer research in their Manhattan stores? Seriously doubt Manhattan supports Chick-Fil-A’s causes.

@Charlie_Burris why go there anymore??

@ChickfilA I will not be coming back to your restaurant until the spicy biscuit is returned. What a terrible decision.

@ChickfilA nobody wants grilled chicken for breakfast. What’s wrong with y’all?
— Andrew (@andysiegs) July 18, 2016
@ChickfilA WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?
— Scott Meyer (@srmeyer) July 19, 2016
@ChickfilA Count me and my family amongst those very disappointed by removing the Spicy Chicken Biscuit from the breakfast menu.
