Meanwhile, Chick-fil-A drops a menu item, and America loses it collective mind

Chick-fil-A fans are a devoted bunch but the restaurant chain may have just pushed some of them too far.

The chicken chain announced Monday that it would no longer be serving its spicy chicken biscuit, replacing it with another breakfast item featuring grilled chicken.

The collective gasps could be heard across the internet.

The new Egg White Grill which replaced the spicy breaded chicken sandwich, features grilled chicken breast, grilled egg whites, and American cheese served on a multigrain English muffin. It marks the first new breakfast item at Chick-fil-A since 2010.

“At Chick-fil-A, we’re constantly looking for innovative – and delicious – ways to meet the needs of our guests,” said David Farmer, vice president of menu strategy and development, in a statement.  “We understand the importance of breakfast and the impact it has throughout the day. We tested the Egg White Grill in select markets across the country, including our busiest restaurants in Manhattan, and our customers gave us great feedback. The Egg White Grill is the perfect solution for our health-conscious customers looking for a grab-and-go breakfast.”

Many Chick-fil-A devotees, however, are not content to just sit by quietly while the switch is made.
