Left-wing radio host is furious that officers get the honor of being called ‘fallen’

After supposedly “retiring” from radio, former Air America radio host Randi Rhodes recently started a podcast to serve her tens of fans and serve them she did with a left-wing rant about how “stupid” it is to venerate police officers who are killed on duty. She raved about how “wrong” it is that we say an officer murdered on the job has “fallen” in the same way we do when a soldier dies in battle.

During her recent podcast Rhodes slammed those who treat police with such honor saying, “So anyway, we had this funeral today and the verbiage that’s bothering me is that they call the police ‘the fallen.’ Now, first of all, that’s military terminology. That’s what we call soldiers after they’ve been killed in combat. We call them the fallen…”

She went on to say it is “stupid” and “wrong” to call the police “fallen.” She disagreed with using the word because it is a term used “when you lose your friend in combat and now we’re applying it to police officers.”

“That’s just stupid. That’s not good. That’s wrong,” she bellowed according to Newsbusters.

She continued with her diarrhea of the mouth saying it is “disturbing” to her when Americans treat police officers with respect.

This whole militarization thing has gotta end and one of the cool things you could do right away, media, is stop calling police officers who are killed in the line of duty ‘the fallen.’ And then the people who are shot by the police, a, you don’t insist on them meeting the bar of justice — they go on paid vacation, this is really disturbing to me — and then, you don’t refer to them as ‘the fallen.’ They should be called the executed — because that’s what they were, they were executed, right there live, you know, so I have some issues.

So, to recap, Rhodes feels that we need to give a special word to suspects shot and killed by police — she wants us to say they were “executed” — but when police die in the line of duty, we should not say they’ve fallen but just simply “killed.”

Clearly, Rhodes would rather venerate those who are often criminals and are shot by police than venerate the police themselves.

If you are not familiar with her work, Randi Rhodes was one of the top talkers on the failed Air America left-wing radio network that never found an audience and went under after only six brief years. She was essentially fired from the network for calling Geraldine Ferraro a “f***ing whore” in 2008 and not long after the network crashed and burned in 2010, Rhodes floated around to one radio job after another without finding any long-term success. She then claimed she “retired” from radio to avoid facing the reality that she couldn’t find a full-time job in radio. But recently she started a podcast and hopes to start a crowd-funded network called “Dark Horse Broadcasting.”
