Outrageous: State Dept. gave taxpayer funds to Bibi Netanyahu opposition before Israeli elections

Obama’s Department of State is in hot water after it was discovered that it gave hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars to an Israeli group that was working to depose the leader of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to a new report by the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Obama’s State Dept. sent $465,000 to a left-wing group called OneVoice. The money was used to oppose the re-election of Netanuyahu in the last Israeli election.

OneVoice is a radical group that supports the Palestinian cause and the money was used to create a voter database, to train left-wing activists, and to hire a political consultant who has ties to Obama, according to IJReview.com.

Obama’s top State Dept. diplomat in Jerusalem is also in trouble for this episode because he deleted emails he received about the money transfer, an action which constitutes a direct violation of our open-records laws.

In a statement about the illicit spending Senator Rob Portman (R, OH) slammed Obama’s State Dept. for funding an activist group that was trying to depose the leader of one of our allies.

The State Department ignored warnings signs and funded a politically active group in a politically sensitive environment with inadequate safeguards.

It is completely unacceptable that U.S. taxpayer dollars were used to build a political campaign infrastructure that was deployed — immediately after the grant ended — against the leader of our closest ally in the Middle East.

American resources should be used to help our allies in the region, not undermine them.

The U.S. funds given to OneVoice have been under investigation since 2015 because the group’s nakedly political activism by a non-profit organization against Israel’s leader is prohibited under U.S. law. It is illegal for U.S. tax dollars to be given to foreign entities working as political activists.

It is no surprise that Obama attempted to fund Netanyahu’s defeat, though. It is well known Obama has opposed Israel since he entered office.

Israel’s Prime Minister made global news late last year when he stared down UN members for 45 seconds of deafening silence. It was “brutal, magnificent, unbelievable” according to witnesses.
