Police working security for Minneapolis’ Women’s Basketball Association team walked off the job when players hit the courts wearing anti-cop, Black Lives Matter t-shirts.
Four off-duty police officers walked out on their security jobs at the Minneapolis Lynx game last weekend when the WNBA players hit the court wearing t-shirts that read “Change starts with us, justice and accountability” on the front with “Black Lives Matter” on the back.
Lt. Bob Kroll, president of the Minneapolis Police Federation, praised the officers for walking out after players donned the anti-cop shirts. “I commend them for it,” Kroll said according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune..
The union chief also noted that having heard of the players’ decision to support the anti-cop Black Lives Matter group, other Minneapolis officers have also said they will not work security at Lynx games any longer. Kroll warned that the whole department may decide to boycott the team after this.
For their part, the players were unbowed insisting that they are protesting “racial profiling” and the loss of life at the hands of police. But trying to have it both ways, some players said they also disagree with targeting and killing police officers.
Some reports claimed eight officers had walked off the security detail, but Lt. Kroll assured the media that only four officers were working the game that night. “They only have four officers working the event,” Kroll jabbed, “because the Lynx have such a pathetic draw.”
But at least the Lynx players weren’t as blatantly filled with hate as Cleveland Browns player Isaiah Crowell who posted an image of a Black Lives Matter protester using a knife to behead a police officer.

Crowell later deleted the image and apologized, but the Browns are now mulling over just how they need to punish Crowell for this outrage.
