Never has so much been said with so few words.
The beleaguered Dallas Police Department was hit with an anonymous threat Saturday evening as the department struggles to accept the deaths of four of its own at the hands of a black man sympathetic to the Black Lives Matter movement. Adding to the day’s challenges, they faced a report of a suspicious person in the parking garage at their headquarters.
Amid the heightened concern, the department turned to its very active Twitter account to chastise the media for “making our jobs more difficult.”
In a series of tweets, the Dallas Police Department made it clear that when it comes to the media, they’re little more than a hindrance. One tweet might have said it all . . .
Reporters putting out misinformation is making our jobs more difficult.

There has been media reports of shots fired at police HQ, there has been NO shots fired. SWAT set off a device to enter a locked fence.

Officers are ordering reporter to move back because they are making it very difficult for them to do their jobs.

The reaction on social media was mostly supportive of the police, with one user going so far as to suggest “the media is responsible for a lot of our problems!” Plenty will argue that the observation is valid.

@DallasPD Can’t blame em. They’re probably not fond of seeing their officers killed on a continuous loop for Network News stations.

@DallasPD Media has to be more careful. Putting themselves in harm’s way and interfering with police work isn’t worth any TV ratings.
