NRA issues ‘controversial’ statement about legal concealed permit holder shot at traffic stop

The National Rifle Association issued a statement on Friday into the shooting death of a black man by a police officer in Minnesota, and said the case was “troubling.”

Many people had questioned if, and when, the group would respond to the shooting because the man, Philando Castile, had a legal concealed carry permit holder.

Some were pleased with the statement but for others on social media it wasn’t enough, or too little too late.
