The National Rifle Association issued a statement on Friday into the shooting death of a black man by a police officer in Minnesota, and said the case was “troubling.”
Many people had questioned if, and when, the group would respond to the shooting because the man, Philando Castile, had a legal concealed carry permit holder.

Some were pleased with the statement but for others on social media it wasn’t enough, or too little too late.
@NRA a good start, but do more, go further. Safe conceal carry is the crux of your org. Lobby 4 funds to research solutions on gun violence.

@NRA cowardly statement

@NRA “Reports” …His name was Philando Castile. He was a man who was murdered, not a “report.” Say his name.
