Trump throws down ultimate defense of Hillary ‘star’–now media is spinning about ‘Frozen’ attack

Donald Trump has the media in a tailspin once again.

In response to invented allegations that the Trump campaign’s use of a six-pointed star in a tweet criticizing Hillary Clinton was anti-Semitic, the campaign is firing back that Disney also used the device.

“Where is the outrage for this Disney book?” Donald Trump tweeted. “Is this the ‘Star of David’ also? Dishonest media! #Frozen.”

The observation that the Disney movie “Frozen” used a six-pointed star was first made by Reddit. The Daily Beast’s senior editor Justin Miller tweeted:

In legal circles Trump’s use of the defense wasn’t stealing — it was precedence.

The Clinton campaign, which originally blasted the Trump camp‘s use of the star, shot back with a claim that Trump was making a straw man argument, and referred to one of the movie’s songs, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”

The Trump campaign deleted the tweet as a result of the public furor it created, but Trump later regretted that decision.

“We shouldn’t have taken it down. We should’ve left it up. I would have rather defended it,” Trump said at a Cincinnati, Ohio rally, according to Politico. “It’s a star! And it actually looks like a sheriff’s star! It could’ve been a star for anything.”

New York Observer publisher Jared Kushner, who is Jewish and married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka, defended the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in a Wednesday op-ed.

“My father-in-law is not an anti-Semite,” Kushner wrote. “The fact is that my father in law is an incredibly loving and tolerant person who has embraced my family and our Judaism since I began dating my wife.”
