North Carolina police have no choice but to arrest fighting couple when ‘pizza rolls’ start flying

This is absurd on a lot of levels.

A North Carolina couple was taken into custody for allegedly engaging in a food fight.

Police were called to the Gastonia home of Brad Beard and Samantha Canipe around 1:00 a.m. on Monday because they were reportedly assaulting each other – with pizza rolls, according to WJZY.

It was not clear why Beard, 24, and Canipe, 21, got into the fight or how many of the snacks were hurled in the altercation.

They were booked into the Gaston County Jail Monday morning after each was charged with one count of misdemeanor simple assault, according to arrest records, WJZY reported.

Beard faces up to 60 days in jail and Canipe faces up to 30 days, police said.
