A Minnesota woman who recently moved into a new neighborhood said a mob of young men have been ganging up around her home and threatening to kidnap and rape her.
A mob of almost 30 youth who appear to be Somali Muslim young men, according to WND.com, allegedly showed up to the woman’s house for no apparent reason, scaring the woman from revealing her identity.
Eyewitnesses at the scene and the woman whose house the men terrorized described the incident which has the upscale neighborhood up in arms, according to an initial report from KSTP.
“We couldn’t get them out. We didn’t know what to do,” one Minneapolis resident told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
According to a Minneapolis police report, between 20 and 30 young men showed up in front of a woman’s house about 9:30 in the morning and “the comments turned to threats.”
“They were screaming at the house that they were going to kidnap you and they were going to rape you,” one Minneapolis resident told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. “It was a very traumatizing experience.”
The report indicates that these young men were driving onto the sidewalk and on the lawn, all while shooting off bottle rockets and screaming.
“It’s a scary thought especially for those who have young children,” one Minneapolis resident said.
But, the terrorist-like threats didn’t occur just on one day. Apparently, the Somali youth have been around the area making the threats for three days.
The woman described to WND.com the exchange she had with the men, who she said were wearing traditional Muslim garb.
“Hey, hey… hey,” they yelled as she was taking out her trash, WND reported.
“We want to live in your house. We want to marry you.”
“No, I already have a husband, but have a good day,” she said, wanting to diffuse the situation.
“We can kidnap you and rape you!” the men apparently shouted at her. “Do you know Shariah law,” one of the men yelled at the woman.
Minneapolis police are working to find the suspects involved in the threats while neighbors say they have stocked up on more security measures.
