Donald Trump took a few days off from his presidential campaign to take care of some business. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee arrived in Scotland as the historic vote was announced severing Great Britain from the European Union.
Trump said that by so doing, “they took their country back, just like we will take America back.”

He took to Twitter to comment further:
Self-determination is the sacred right of all free people’s, and the people of the UK have exercised that right for all the world to see.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 24, 2016
America is proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder w/a free & ind UK. We stand together as friends, as allies, & as a people w/a shared history.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 24, 2016
Trump’s initial comment drew a flurry of criticism because he failed to clarify that it was the British vote when he was in Scotland.
@realDonaldTrump You are in Scotland. We voted #Remain. #EUref

@Morning_Joe Except ALL the Scots want to STAY IN THE EU. #Drumpf = dumb as it gets. #Brexit
— Adam Beckett (@Adam__Beckett) June 24, 2016
@Morning_Joe Trump is so stupid. He doesn’t realise that Scotland voted to remain in Europe. Dumb Pres. candidate.
— joe logue (@joelogue2) June 24, 2016
A majority of Scotland (not “all”) did vote to remain in the EU, but as DailyMail reported, there is strong and very vocal contingent that wants out, and that fact was not lost on Trump.

Many fear Trump will benefit from the newly found British independence and took to Twitter to voice their concern:
tbh because of how #Brexit went down I'm more and more worried trump will actually win
— max (@memakico) June 24, 2016
Hate to jump on the bandwagon, but #Brexit needs to wake people up. Trump could be elected. Suggest you vote for Hillary.

The fears that inspired #Brexit may now inspire the undecided to vote for #Trump. Lose-lose scenario for the world. https://t.co/aMRqorO1B3

But not so fast. There were plenty of folks celebrating Brexit and what they see as a slap-in-the-face to global governance, and they too took to Twitter… this time to celebrate.

#Brexit proves that you shouldn't underestimate the silent majority. America will be great again in November. #VotedLeave #MAGA #Trump

I'm totally ok with my investments and 401K taking a hit today if it means that Britain is celebrating her independence! #Brexit

And the Daily Mail reported that that Great Britain’s vote for independence from the EU was a harbinger of a Trump victory on November 8.
Th Mail reported:
In an op-ed for the LA Times, London School of Economics fellow Brian Klaas and Marcel Dirsus, a lecturer at the University of Kiel in Germany, compare Brexit voters to “Trump supporters sporting ‘Make America Great Again’ hats” who “believe they have lost too much for too long.”
“Their complaint is understandable,” they write. “But turning inward will only make their problems worse and the world more dangerous.”
Stated differently, Trump placed his bet on Great Britain leaving the European Union and won big-time.
Both President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton placed their bets on the Brits remaining within the bloc and rolled the dice — they came up snake eyes.
Trump endorsed #Brexit and stand with British people while corrupt media and Hillary and Obama wanted globalist EU https://t.co/2RnHNV7VTQ

#Brexit doesn’t mean Trump will win. But it sure isn’t good news for establishment pols like Hillary who are themselves the globalist elite.

Trump is not even in office yet and great things are happening all over the world! Coincidence? #God #Britain #Brexit #Trump2016
