It was obvious from the very beginning that something was off with Hollywood actor Ben Affleck during an appearance on the series premiere of Bill Simmons’ “Any Given Wednesday.”
Seriously off.
The actor was almost belligerent in an angry, profanity-laced 5-minute rant about “Deflategate” and it was hard NOT to notice his slurred speech — for the record, the show was taped at 11 a.m.
While Affleck’s battles with alcoholism are well known, TMZ said sources insist he’s still on the wagon. The celebrity news website also reported that things were animated BEFORE the cameras were rolling:
Sources close to Affleck tell us he’s stone-cold sober, and the slurring is just how passionate he is about Tom Brady. We’re told he and Simmons got into a heated, loud debate before cameras started rolling. So when the taping started at 11 AM, Ben was already fired up.
Affleck went overboard in defending New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, prompting the Los Angeles Times to comment on his “apparently major man crush” on the player, noting that “Batman had quite the potty mouth.”
