After being attacked on social media for a picture he took with Donald Trump, Jerry Falwell Jr. has fired back.

The controversy started Tuesday afternoon when the Liberty University president, and son of preacher Jerry Falwell, tweeted the picture.

The anti-Trump crowd quickly seized on the fact that a Playboy cover hung in the background behind Falwell Jr.’s wife, Becki.

Later in the day, Falwell introduced Trump for a speech he gave in front of a decidedly Christian conservative crowd that included evangelist Franklin Graham, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson and former Christian Coalition head Ralph Reed, according to the Washington Post.

But Falwell Jr. responded to the negativity on Tuesday night.
