A group of Muslim men attacked fans of the world-renowned rock band Radiohead in Istanbul, Turkey during a launch party for the band’s new album “A Moon Shaped Box.”

Video footage taken of the attack showed how Islamic extremists resorted to violence after they became enraged that attendees of the event were drinking alcohol during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, according to CNN.

It was a calm event with people sitting outside in small groups chatting and drinking beer when the attackers came, according to an eyewitness who spoke to several Turkish news agencies.

“All of a sudden bottles were being thrown on us by some men, glass bottles. They were throwing glass bottles at people’s heads,” the eyewitness said.

The Islamic attackers can be seen in the video footage, shouting “Close it! Close it down!”

After one attacker knocked over a beer can and threw a stool outside the building, he yelled at an attendee “Are you not ashamed doing this in Ramadan?!”

Once the lights of the store where fans were listening to the Radiohead album were shut off, one Islamic attacker can be heard threatening fans, yelling “I’ll kill you” and “I will burn you alive inside!”

When local authorities stepped in, the extremists were faced with tear gas.

Radiohead immediately condemned the violence against their fans after learning of the Islamic attack, saying that intolerance towards those who do not practice Islamic traditions must come to an end, globally.

“Our hearts go out to those attacked tonight at Velvet IndieGround in Istanbul,” the Radiohead statement read. “We hope that someday we will be able to look back on such acts of violent intolerance as things of the ancient past. For now, we can only offer our fans in Istanbul our love and support.”

The attack only led to one injury, a man who was struck on the head with a bottle which left him needing stitches. No arrests have been made yet in the attack.
