Shocking video footage shows the Orlando shooter’s home looking astoundingly “Americanized” – until you dig a little deeper.

Pictures and exclusive Daily Mail video emerging from inside Omar Mateen’s apartment may turn up more questions than they do answers.

Clearly embracing the American lifestyle with a Star Wars themed child’s bedroom and bathroom, and even a Christmas themed entryway, the revelations could beg the question… was this a psychologically conflicted monster or was what appears to be some sort of assimilation a calculated ruse?

Mateen lived in the two-bedroom apartment in Fort Pierce, Florida with his wife and three-year-old son since 2011, the Daily Mail reported. On the surface, the apartment looked like any other that can be found in America, with plenty of pictures of family, abundant super-hero toys for his son, and even balloons from a past birthday celebration.

But dig a little deeper, and there are some contradictory signs.

Mateen was obsessed with his physique and a known steroid user, according to the DailyMail.

Investigators also found what looked to be a ceremonial sword sitting proudly in front of the family TV. Mateen had at least two books in the apartment, “An Explanation of the Last Tenth with Crucial Matters in the Life of a Muslim” and “Being a Palestinian makes me Smile.”

One of the most foreboding findings was written on a Mickey Mouse calendar, the Daily Mail reported.

“D-Day, 10:30” was written in marker on June 7, 2016 while the rest of the month was left blank.

Was it a signal he was planning an earlier attack, or was it a marker for the start of the Muslim holiday Ramadan?

Of course, America’s “D-Day” is on June 6^th marking the day brave young Americans looked death in the face and stormed the beaches of Normandy to save the world from the evil Nazi regime.

How those brave soldiers must be weeping now.
