A Baptist pastor in Sacramento, California has come under fire for his remarks on the Orlando terrorist attacks, which left at least 49 people dead, saying that Christians should not be mourning the death of gays, according to the Chicago Tribune.

“People say, like: Well, aren’t you sad that 50 sodomites died,” Pastor Roger Jimenez of the Verity Baptist Church said. “Here’s the problem with that. It’s like the equivalent of asking me – what if you asked me: Hey, are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?'”

“Um, no, I think that’s great,” Jimenez continued. “I think that helps society. You know, I think Orlando, Fla., is a little safer tonight.”
