In a breaking news at noon update, NBC reported that Noor Salman, the wife of Orlando gunman Omar Mateen, had advance knowledge of his intent and tried to convince him not to engage in his killing spree, but she never warned anyone about it.
Salman also told FBI investigators that she drove Mateen to the Pulse, the nightclub that was the scene of the bloodbath, on a prior occasion because he wanted to scope it out in advance of the actual attack.
She reportedly also said she had accompanied him when he purchased ammunition and a holster for his handgun — reportedly a Glock semi-automatic.
Law enforcement officials are considering bring charges against Salman for her failure to warn police of Mateen’s plans.
