“Delete your account… you are a human trash fire.”

Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera is under considerable fire over a critique he offered to those inside the gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., when a radicalized Muslim gunman slaughtered 49 people.

Standing just feet from the scene of the horrific crime, Rivera appeared to take the victims to task for not challenging the gunman.

“When you’re in that situation and you have no weapons, you have two choices,” Rivera said. “If you can’t hide and you can’t run there’s only two choices – you stay and die or you fight.”

He then offered what many on social media perceived as criticism of those in the club when the shooting was taking place.

“For God’s sake, fight back!” Rivera cried. “There’s a hundred people that he murdered with one weapon that he reloaded.”

In reality, 49 people were murdered and another 53 wounded.

Rivera went on to say that people must understand we are at war with Islamic terrorists and “we’ve got to stop them.”

His remarks can be heard at  the 3:48-minute mark:
