Elizabeth Warren is quickly learning what a number of former Republican presidential candidates have learned the hard way, that it’s not wise to get into a mudslinging contest with Donald Trump.
The Democratic senator from Massachusetts hit Trump hard last week right before she announced her endorsement of Hillary Clinton, claiming the presumptive GOP presidential nominee is a “thin-skinned, racist bully.”
And it appears being labeled a racist is wearing thin with Trump, who took to Twitter on Saturday to say if anyone is a racist, it is Warren.
“Goofy Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to as Pocahontas, pretended to be a Native American in order to advance her career. Very racist!” he tweeted.

Trump has a habit of referring to Warren as “Pocahontas” over her controversial claims to be Native American. His efforts have been so effective that a Warren supporter reportedly acquired the website domain Pocahontas.com and redirected it to Warren’s website.
The candidate also responded Saturday to the possibility of Clinton selecting Warren as a running mate, saying Warren has a “nasty mouth” and all but daring Clinton to choose her for vice president.
Warren met with Clinton on Friday, prompting lots of speculation about an all-female presidential ticket.
