Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, better known as “Joe the Plumber,” who buttonholed President Obama on his tax policies during Obama’s 2008 presidential run, announced Thursday night that he’s backing Donald Trump this year for president.

During his appearance on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record,” he said that he’d supported Trump, along with Sen. Ted Cruz from the beginning.

Wurzelbacher also boldly predicted that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s choice of running mate will be a real shocker.

“Donald Trump has definitely not been running your average race, and so it’s really going to probably shock a lot of people who he picks,” the plumber turned conservative political blogger told host Greta Van Susteren.

“I couldn’t even hazard a guess [as to who it might be]. I’m just looking forward to him grabbing the Bernie supporters and bringing them into the fold and really burying Hillary Clinton.”

He then went on to distinguish Trump from his likely Democratic opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“When these young voters have grown up on Hillary Clinton, all they have heard is scandals, compromise, corruption and the lying,” he opined.

“With Trump, on the other hand, they have seen him the last 15, 20 years on ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’ They associate words with Donald Trump like winner, businessmen, successful, speaking his mind.”
