So much for rest and relaxation.

Conservative firebrand Glenn Beck has been on vacation since all the fallout over him being suspended for one week by SiriusXM’s Patriot Channel radio over a discussion he had with author Brad Thor about “removing” GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Thor told Beck that because of a “feckless, spineless Congress,” the American people would be put into a “terrible, terrible position… to get Trump out of office” should he overstep his constitutional authority as president.

“If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that,” the thriller novelist asked.

The remark was interpreted by some as Thor advocating for the assassination of Donald Trump and Beck got drawn into the controversy by agreeing with Thor’s remarks.

Being on vacation, Beck has not directly responded to the controversy, but he tipped his hand on where he stands when he tweeted a link to an article by Erick Erickson calling SiriusXM “cowards.”

Beck also posted a link on Facebook to a statement from Dom Theodaore, the general manager of his radio show.

“Thanks Dom,” he included with the post.

Theodore commented on what he called “unfortunate fabrications surrounding [Beck’s] interview with Brad Thor,” insisting that “Glenn has never — and will never — advocate violence.”

He also called the response to that interview a “viral hatchet job,” and said they have not been contacted by any law enforcement agency, to include the Secret Service.

Theodore added that they’ve been anticipating something like this to occur.

“We have been preparing for an assault on Glenn’s voice, and others like it, which only reaffirms the importance and value of independent platforms like TheBlaze, platforms governed not only by ratings but also by principles and values,” he wrote.
