There are an awful lot of people who ended up with egg on their face late Monday.

The Daily Mail revealed Facebook photos of the couple who they reported as the parents of the inquisitive little four-year-old boy who fell into the gorilla habitat Saturday, resulting in the shooting death of the gorilla in order to save the life of the child.

This happened at the Cincinnati Zoo, and one of the zoo-goers captured heart-pounding video of the boy’s life-and-death struggle with the gorilla.

Liberals and Black Lives Matter activists took to social media to call the shooting of the gorilla an act of racism — killing a gorilla to save a white kid.

The boy’s mother thanked everyone on her Facebook page for their prayers and support:

Yes, it turned out that both parents of the boy are African-American. In the initial videos, it was hard to determine the race of the child. Not that anyone other than the race-baiters would even care to do so.

Meet the boy’s mother, Michelle Gregg, 32, who has three additional children by father Deonne Dickerson, 36.

The Mail revealed that the father of the lad who fell has a lengthy criminal record stretching back for more than 10 years, including burglary, firearms violations, drug trafficking, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and kidnapping.

In 2006, Dickerson served a one-year sentence for a drug trafficking, but after he got out he appears to have turned his life around, according to his social media entries. The Daily Mail reported:

Indeed, the majority of his postings to the social media site are updates of his children and his working life.

In other pictures he has uploaded his friends congratulate him and Michelle on the birth of their fourth child last January.

Cleveland based Dickerson is from Atlanta, Georgia and studied at Cuyahoga Community College, Ohio and now works as a sorter at a Cincinnati industrial equipment supplier.

But back to that race issue, Conservative author and pundit Ann Coulter tweeted:

And then there were these observations:

It wouldn’t hurt for people to actually get their facts straight before they start screaming racism.

CORRECTION: The age of the boy was incorrectly reported in earlier posts. It has been confirmed that the child is 3 and not 4-years-old.
