Harry Reid is seeing red in more ways than one, over the idea of particular running mates for Hillary Clinton.

Not only did the entrenched Nevada Senator say “no” to the prospect that a potential Hillary pick might be plucked from a state with a Republican governor, Reid say “hell no.”

“If we have a Republican governor in any of those states, the answer is not only no, but hell no. I would do whatever I can, and I think most of my Democratic colleagues here would say the same thing,” Reid told MSNBC’s “AM Joy.” “[I would] yell and scream to stop that.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is a name on many short lists and the two would make the first all-female presidential ticket. But according to Reid, that would be strictly forbidden with Republican Charlie Baker currently as Governor.

Other bantered about names that would be wiped out if Reid has his way, would include Corey Booker of New Jersey, and Sherrod Brown of Ohio, the Hill reported.

When pressed on his comments, the Reid camp said it’s strictly about retaking the Senate.

“I wouldn’t look too deep into his comments,” an aide told The Hill. “He didn’t want Republican governors to be in line to appoint [GOP senators].”
