Donald Trump is standing firm in his belief that EgyptAir flight 804 was brought down by terrorism.
On Thursday, Trump received harsh criticism for declaring the disappearance of the flight was an act of terrorism. A stance that many officials involved from the U.S., Russia and Egypt now concede is likely the case.
Nevertheless, the heavy criticism didn’t divert the presumptive Republican presidential nominee from his hardline stance during a campaign event in New Jersey on Thursday.
He scolded Hillary Clinton for not being able to say the words “Islamic terrorism” and lambasted her for her cautious stance.
“What just happened about 12 hours ago? A plane got blown out of the sky, and if anybody thinks it wasn’t blown out of the sky, you’re 100 percent wrong, folks,” he said.
On Friday, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski accused Trump of hatemongering.
“I’m thinking of the future,” Trump said. “We cannot continue to let things like this happen. We are being taken advantage of by radical Islamic terrorists and we are, this world is changing. And (if) another couple of planes go down Mika, and you’re gonna have a depression worldwide the likes of which you’ve never seen.”
He warned against four more years of Obama policies by “a weak Hillary Clinton” and reiterated what he said caused the crash.
“When you find out what happened to the plane it will be exactly what I said,” he said. “That plane didn’t go down because of mechanical failure.”
