FBI Director James Comey has reassured Americans that Hillary Clinton will not receive any special treatment from his department.

On Wednesday Comey conducted what is referred to as a “pen and pad” question and answer session with reporters including Fox News’ Catherine Herridge where he made his position crystal clear.

WMAL Radio’s Larry O’Connor and Brian Wilson interviewed her following the session where she revealed what was said in her exchange with Comey.

“We have not heard from one government employee who holds a security clearance who has not said that they believe they would already be in jail for doing a fraction of what is alleged to have been done by Mrs. Clinton and her team. So what do you say to people to reassure them that they will be held to the same legal standard and that there is not a special set of rules for them because they are powerful and they are connected?” she said she asked him.

“And he said ‘I’m not going to comment on that.’ But then he paused and he said, ‘But, what I will say is there are no special rules for anyone under FBI investigation,'” she said.

This exchange occurred at the same briefing where he dismissed Clinton’s claim that the FBI was merely conducting a “security inquiry” and not an investigation.

On Friday Democrat National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz appeared on Fox News and declared Clinton wasn’t the “target” of the FBI investigation.

“I think it’s important to underscore that Secretary Clinton isn’t even a target of this inquiry, investigation, whatever I-word you want to use. This election is going to be decided on…” she said before being interrupted by Bill Hemmer who wanted to know how she would possibly be privy to such information.

“Because I repeatedly, I’ve repeatedly been told that. I mean, my understanding is that Secretary Clinton is not the target of this investigation, inquiry, whatever you want to call it,” she said.

Hemmer asked her point-blank if the FBI told her that and had Wasserman Schultz stammering.

“I-I-I-I’m only repeating what my understanding is,” she said.
