Regardless of your take on the events that took place the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman has since proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that his judgement is highly questionable.

The latest and perhaps most damning evidence of this is Zimmerman is auctioning off the 9mm pistol he used to take the teen’s life — he told Fox affiliate WOFL he “recently received it back from the Department of Justice.”

The firearm, which Zimmerman called “a piece of American History” in the item description, goes up for sale Thursday at 11:00 a.m. EST at

Zimmerman wrote:

“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012… The gun is a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm. It has recently been returned to me by the Department of Justice. The pistol currently has the case number written on it in silver permanent marker. Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History.”

The opening bid is $5,000.00 and Zimmerman said “a portion of the proceeds will be used to: fight BLM violence against Law Enforcement officers, ensure the demise of Angela Correy’s persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric.”

Angela Corey — Zimmerman misspells her name — was the special prosecutor appointed by Florida Gov. Rick Scott who charged Zimmerman with murder in the second degree.

“I’m a free American… I can do what I want with my possessions,” the oft-criticized Zimmerman said of his decision to sell the gun.

“I thought it’s time to move past the firearm,” he told WOFL. “And if I sell it, and it sales, I move past it. Otherwise, it’s going in a safe for my grand kids. And never to be used or seen ever again.”
