Ted Cruz thought winning Nebraska’s Republican primary could land him back in the presidential race, but Tuesday’s results made that impossible.
GOP front-runner Donald Trump walked away with 36 delegates in the winner-take-all state and over 61 percent of the vote, according to the New York Times.
Though not expecting a win, Cruz who dropped out of the race last week, had not ruled out the possibility that a major win in Nebraska could lead to resurrecting his campaign.
Tuesday’s results in West Virginia and Nebraska continue Trump’s victories, following last week’s landslide in Indiana that resulted in Cruz suspending his campaign.
