It seems President Obama’s speechwriters knew Obamacare was a giant lie.
In an interview with Charlie Rose, they laughed off the famous line they wrote for the president’s Obamacare speeches which purported that “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”
In the exchange, former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett says “I really like, I was very — the joke speeches is the most fun part of this. But the things I’m the most proud of were the most serious speeches, I think. Health care, economic speeches.”
Following up, another former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau jokes “Lovett wrote the line about ‘If you like your insurance, you can keep it.'”
To which, Lovett responds “How dare you,” while the round-table hysterically laughs. “And you know what? It’s still true! No,” Lovett says.
