Bill Clinton is now fair game.
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is responding to Hillary Clinton’s criticism of his rhetoric toward women by going after her husband as an abuser of women.
And by extension, he’s targeting the former secretary of state as her husband’s enabler.
“She was a total enabler,” he told supporters in Eugene, Oregon.
Then he took it one step further, and claimed that the Democratic presidential front-runner “would go after these women and destroy their lives. She was an unbelievably mean and nasty enabler.”
And in Spokane Washington:
“She’s married to a man who was the worst abuser of women in the history of politics. She’s married to a man who hurt many women,” he said.
“She’s married to a man who got impeached for lying. Nobody, perhaps in the history of politics, was worst to women or abused women more than Bill Clinton. And she’s taking negative ads on me,” he asked.
“What she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful,” Trump said. “They’re going after me with women? Give me a break, folks.”
The shift in rhetoric was the subject of Fox News Channel’s “Media Buzz” and “Fox and Friends Weekend.” Watch.
