We now live in a time where a father daughter dance is offensive.

South Carolina’s Brockman Elementary School cancelled its annual father daughter dance after less than 10 complaints that it wasn’t inclusive, Fox 10 reported.

“There were a few parents that did not think the father-daughter dance was inclusive, when actually at all times it was never an event that was exclusive to only fathers and daughters,” spokeswoman Karen York told Fox 10.

“Mothers and anyone else who wanted to show up at the dance were certainly welcome to attend,” she said.

The event scheduled for May 13 had already raised $1,000 for the school’s parent-teacher group but now all of that money will be refunded, according to Fox 10.

In previous years the event raised more than $2,000.

The school is now planning to run another event for the same day called, simply, the Brockman Ball.
