Ryan responds to blowback about not supporting Trump–and he’s got something to say to his backers

“We’re on the wrong track as a country”…

House Speaker Paul Ryan answered his critics Thursday for having said he couldn’t yet throw his full support behind presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The Wisconsin congressman said that it was up to Trump — not himself — to unite thew party.

He told CNN host Jake Tapper that he hopes that the party will be unified by July 18 when he gavels the start of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

“I think a lot of the burden is on the presumptive nominee to do that,” he said.
