After big victory, Trump chooses important job for Ben Carson on campaign team

Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump may have just given Ben Carson the ultimate job of his campaign.

Trump told the New York Times in an interview that Carson will be on his vice presidential committee which will look for and vet the best possible option for a Trump presidential ticket.

“I’ll set up a committee, and that I will do soon,” he told the Times, but added his pick won’t come until July.

“I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks.”

The New York businessman also hinted at choosing a VP that could be a political insider or even a member of the leadership within the US military.

“I’m more inclined to go with a political person,” Trump said. “I have business very much covered.”

He later added that “I think I’ll be absolutely great on the military and military strategy.”

When asked if Gov. John Kasich was on his short list of VP picks, Trump replied “Not at this moment,” though the interview was conducted before the Ohio republican announced he would be suspending his campaign.

Now, though, Trump says he would be interested in vetting Kasich as a VP choice, telling CNN this:
