Should a woman who says she gave birth in the back of her Honda be given a new car?

That’s the question social media has been debating since Beth Newell gave birth on Sunday and tweeted the car company a picture of her holding her new daughter. She asked for a new car because hers was “a mess.”

Many people were on her side and petitioned the Japanese car maker to provide the new mom with a new vehicle.

Others thought the idea was ridiculous.

It’s worth noting that there is no evidence Newell gave birth in the back of the Honda, and a look at her career might be a hint that it’s all a big joke.

Her website describes her as “founder and editor of the satirical women’s magazine, Reductress.”

It also mentions her work has been featured on The Onion.
