Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador teed off on former House Speaker John Boehner and called him “the worst speaker of the House in history.”

Labrador, a Ted Cruz supporter, was speaking to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer about the comments Boehner made calling Cruz “Lucifer in the flesh” and a “miserable son of a b***h.”

“That was probably the unclassiest thing that I’ve ever seen somebody do in politics. And in fact, it’s not surprising to me,” Labrador told Blitzer.

“I’ve been pretty good at trying not to attack John Boehner on a personal basis, even though I thought he was the worst speaker of the House in history. He was a terrible leader. And now I think the gloves are off,” he continued.

Labrador said Boehner didn’t like true conservatives when he was speaker because he just wanted to “have a good afternoon with his wine and his golf club,” and “have an easy life.”

“I think it’s really, really sad to see a man do that in his later years. He should have kept his comments to himself instead of saying something like that,” Labrador said.

“Next time Congressman, you’ll have to tell us how you really feel about the former speaker of the House,” Blitzer sarcastically said.
