Florida Gov. Rick Scott thinks the Republicans should stop helping Hillary Clinton.
The GOP needs to rally around Republican front-runner Donald Trump, Scott urged, in an appearance on Fox News’ “On the Record” on Friday.
“All the anti-Trump movement is doing now is helping Hillary,” he told host Greta Van Susteren. “We need to, in contrast, we have to say we’ve got to help Donald Trump win this race. This is important to our country. We need to have somebody that’s going to focus on jobs, jobs, jobs and defending this country.”
Though Scott said he would never tell candidates like Ted Cruz or John Kasich to drop out of the presidential race, he noted that people who are “pure anti-Trump” should stop the rhetoric as it is only helping Democratic candidate Clinton.
The Republican governor, who has endorsed Trump, believes the GOP candidate will secure the party’s nomination and voters will come together in an effort to defeat Clinton in November.
“I believe he’s going to win. I believe he’s going to be a very good president,” Scott said of Trump.” I think he is going to help us get jobs going. We’ve done it in Florida, we’ve added over a million jobs, but we need to do that nationwide.”
