Donald Trump thinks Hillary Clinton’s gender is all she has going for her presidential campaign.
“She’s playing the woman card – it’s the only thing she’s got going. That’s it. And she’s playing it as much as she can,” Trump said on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” on Thursday.
The “woman card” comment has taken on a life of its own in the race, with Trump accusing the Democratic candidate of trying to use gender to her advantage and Clinton firing back by launching literal “woman cards.”
“If you raise your voice, it’s like, ‘Oh, look what he’s saying, and look at the way he talks.’ Give me a break,” Trump told host Bill O’Reilly. “I mean, she raises her voice much more than I raise mine, believe me.”
The GOP front-runner did not think his criticism of Clinton in the race could be seen as sexist. “Nobody respects women more than I do,” he said.
Trump thought “crooked Hillary” is facing problems that may prevent her from running the race to its conclusion.
“She’s got problems. I don’t even know if she can run,” he said, pointing to the email scandal that has plagued her campaign. “I don’t know how she gets by that problem, when so many people’s lives have been ruined for doing much less than she did.”
“She’s only running because she’s being protected by the Democrats,” Trump added. “Without that, she wouldn’t have a chance of running.”
“Remember this, Bill,” Trump concluded. “I haven’t even started yet.”
