It’s safe to say, Carly Fiorina is definitely not a Mike Tyson fan.
Sen. Ted Cruz’s vice presidential pick lambasted GOP front-runner Donald Trump for touting his endorsement from famous American professional boxer Mike Tyson, according to a report from POLITICO.
“Sorry, I don’t consider a convicted rapist a tough guy,” Fiorina told POLITICO. “And I think it says a lot about Donald Trump’s campaign and his character that he is standing up and cheering for an endorsement by Mike Tyson.”
Tyson was arrested and convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant back in 1992 in the state of Indiana.
Trump, days before Fiorina’s attack, told a crowd at his Indiana rally “But Mike said: ‘I love Trump. I endorse Trump.’ And that’s the end. I’m sure he doesn’t know about your economic situation in Indiana. But when I get endorsed by the tough ones, I like it, because you know what? We need toughness now. We need toughness.”
Tyson and Trump have long defended one another. Back in 1992 following Tyson’s rape case, Trump defended him saying that he was “railroaded” in the criminal trial.
