GOP front-runner Donald Trump might have another celebrity feud on his hands.
George Clooney’s wife, international attorney Amal Clooney, talked to the BBC about her feelings on Trump. Defending the Islamic culture, she said the front-runner offended Muslims by suggesting a temporary ban on Muslim immigration into the country.
Although, she conveniently left out the “temporary” part.
“I mean, when you listen to what the leading candidate on the Republican side has been saying about building walls, about excluding Mexicans, and saying there has to be a complete shutdown on all Muslims coming in,” Clooney said of Trump.
“If you actually look at what he specifically says in that now infamous speech about Muslims, he kept saying, ‘They only want jihad; they don’t believe in our way of life; they don’t respect our system,'” Clooney continued. “And when he says ‘they.'”
“And, you know, you watch the media coverage afterwards and people should’ve been saying, ‘Do you mean the 1.5 billion people around the world who fit that description,” Clooney finished. “Do you mean the people who are U.S. citizens, who are members of your military, the vast majority of whom are not extremist or violent in any way?”
Watch her full statement here:
Amal and George Clooney are known for living quite an extravagant lifestyle, as they are currently renovating their $15 million English country-side mansion.
Twitter users were quick to point out the hypocrisy of the uber-rich who some say go unaffected by mass Muslim immigration.
