Actress Rosario Dawson set the political world ablaze when she invoked the name of Monica Lewinsky while stumping for Bernie Sanders.
“We are literally under attack for not just supporting the other candidate,” she told the crowd Saturday at a Sanders rally. “Now I’m with Monica Lewinsky with this. Bullying is bad.”

Lewinsky has said she was the subject of bullying and taunting after her affair with Hillary Clinton’s husband, former president Bill Clinton, came to light.
“She’s actually dedicated her life now to talking about that,” Dawson told the crowd. “And now as a campaign strategy, we are being bullied.”
On Sunday Sanders appeared on CNN and was asked by jake Tapper if Dawson’s naming of Lewinsky was appropriate.

“Rosario is a great actress and she’s doing a great job for us, and she’s been a passionate fighter to see that we increase the voter turnout, that we fight for racial, economic, environmental justice,” the Vermont senator said. “Our job right now is to contrast our views compared to Secretary Clinton. That’s what a campaign is about.
