It’s “a solution in search of an issue.”

Syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer, no fan of Donald Trump, said Thursday that the Republican presidential front-runner was correct — there’s no big problem with allowing transgenders to use the restroom of the sex they identify with.

In response to a question posed to him at a “Today” show town hall Thursday morning, Trump created something of a furor when he said people should use whatever bathroom they’re most comfortable with.

Krauthammer said it only became an issue when states like North Carolina made it one.

“This is a solution in search of an issue. I mean, do we really have an epidemic of transgenders being evil in bathrooms across the country? I haven’t heard of a single case,” he said, which is basically what Trump said that morning.

“It is not a major national problem,” he concluded, “and it should have been left that way.”

Talk radio host Laura Ingraham referred to it as “not exactly Rosa Parks on the bus here” and dismissed it as a purely state issue.
