“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski said Friday that the charges leveled, and now repealed, against Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski were “a joke from the beginning.”
“For the first time, we’ve heard nothing from the reporter who’s made these accusations — nothing at all,” Brzezinski told the “Morning Joe” panel. “She tweeted a lot about it. She was very upset when it happened, you could hear the audio tape. She was saying, ‘Oh, my God, oh, my God.’”
Mark Halperin from Bloomberg Politics said there’s plenty of blame to go around — Fields, Lewandowski and the Jupiter, Florida, police officers who charged the campaign manager.
Brzezinski related her own experience as a reporter.
“I’m going to tell you right now, a lot worse has happened to me in a press scrum. A lot worse,” she said.
“I’m just going to be very careful,” she added, “but I think we women have a responsibility to make sure that we bring to the table valuable credibility, and that we don’t — I think something that is sort of hard to talk about happened here. And I’m not going to push it forward and lead to anymore problems.”
Then she offered her final appraisal.
“But this was a joke from the beginning,” she concluded. “It was.”
