The reporter allegedly assaulted by Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski isn’t taking any unsolicited advice – especially the kind she doesn’t want to hear.
Fresh off the news Lewandowski won’t be prosecuted for battery after ex-Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields’ charged he grabbed her at a campaign event, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren chimed in with some advice… let it go.
Michelle Fields should not bring a civil law suit @piersmorgan
— Greta Van Susteren (@greta) April 14, 2016
Fields said Wednesday night that she is planning on taking civil action against both Lewandowski and Trump for defamation. But Van Susteren has been a vocal critic of Field’s claim she was assaulted, and didn’t end her advice there:
Terrible that some in the media pushed her to this https://t.co/JNoAP4s3bn
— Greta Van Susteren (@greta) April 14, 2016
She is young and people w/ no experience encouraged her https://t.co/XEvWFWxwqu

As in the recent past, Van Susteren has also used her blog to criticize Fields, and those who she claimed pushed her to press charges.
Anyone encouraging Michelle Fields to bring a civil law suit is not doing her a favor. She does not want to take the stand in a civil case, subject to rigorous cross examination, that is likely to be on television to discuss a case that the DA won’t prosecute because he does not believe the evidence shows assault. Yes, the burden of proof is less in a civil case, but she is just not going to win and it will be expensive and a heartache.
Anyone encouraging this young woman to bring a lawsuit is irresponsible to her.
Fields on the other hand, isn’t exactly excited about the advice, calling Van Susteren a “Trump shill.”
I think I’ll pass on getting legal advice from a Trump shill. Thanks tho. https://t.co/YoPznOC9LB

Field’s response came after this:
For those asking, office of prosecutor asked 2 weeks ago if I’d be ok with an apology from Corey. I said ya but haven’t heard back about it
