First lady Michelle Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are apparently not fond of each other, to put it lightly.
In a new book titled “First Women, The Grace And Power Of America’s Modern First Ladies,” author Kate Anderson Brower reveals that Obama and Clinton cannot stand each other ever since the 2008 Democratic primary, according to Inside Edition.
“I don’t think Michelle has not really been able to bury the hatchet after 2008,” Brower said. “She is not a political person.”
Brower, who spent four years covering the Obama administration for Bloomberg News, is referring to the heated 2008 Democratic presidential primary where Clinton was long seen as the top contender until then-Sen. Barack Obama came along and swept the nomination from right under her feet.
Obama was rooting for Vice President Joe Biden to jump in the Democratic primary with Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders and was “heartbroken” when he didn’t, according to Brower.
“Michelle Obama would stand her nose at Hillary Clinton,” Brower told Inside Edition. “There is a sense that the Clintons are all about money and power, and that the Obama’s are about ideals and getting something done.”
“Hillary Clinton is a very political woman and obviously can’t wait to get back into the White House,” Brower continued. “Michelle can’t wait to leave the White House. They are totally different people.”
Already, the Obamas are saying Brower’s book is “unequivocally false,” insisting that they have a “warm relationship” with the Clinton’s.
