You know the world is upside down when the porn industry attempts to take a “moral” stand.

On Monday, popular adult site XHamster decided it was going to take a stand against North Carolina and the law it passed to keep men out of women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.

Users in North Carolina who decided to access the website Monday were met with a blank screen; what would seem like a malfunction was actually a purposeful move made by company management.

XHamster spokesman Mike Kulich said his company has instituted a block that prevents North Carolina computers from accessing the website.

“We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate,” he told The Huffington Post. “Judging by the stats of what you North Carolinians watch, we feel this punishment is a severe one. We will not standby and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage. We respect all sexualities and embrace them.”

He gave some stats to back up his claim that North Carolina residents will miss XHamster.

“Back in March, we had 400,000 hits for the term ‘Transsexual’ from North Carolina alone. People from that state searched ‘Gay’ 319,907 times,” he said.

Interesting then that he would want to punish that community further.

Also interesting that the XHamster site hosts clandestinely-recorded videos from women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.

XHamster is the latest in entertainment to take the “moral stand” on this issue and coincidentally receive a ton of publicity.

Bruce Springsteen cancelled a performance in the Tar Heel State and singer Bryan Adams followed suit by canceling his concert in Mississippi who passed a similar law.

Social media opined on the skin-flick ban.

Perhaps its bigger concern is that it might lose content because of the law.
