Dan Rather relentlessly ridiculed for warning Cruz ahead of Wisconsin primary

Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather had some words of advice for Ted Cruz as the presidential candidates head into the Wisconsin primary Tuesday.

“This is a very important vote tomorrow and Trump has not lost it,” Rather warned the Texas senator and his supporters in an appearance on CNN Monday. “Don’t taunt the alligator until after you cross the creek.”

The former news anchor left CBS Evening News in 2005 after a controversy arose that disputed his report on President George W. Bush and his service in the Texas Air National Guard. Rather had been with the network for 43 years. The feedback to his comment was relentless:
