A video recorded for Facebook purportedly shows the moment a Chicago man is shot on the street.
The man was standing in front of a closed store saying he needed it to open so he could have a place to “duck and hide for cover.”
He didn’t know how right he was.
Moments later shots rang out and the camera was suddenly facing the sky.
With a beautiful, clear blue sky as a backdrop someone can be seen standing over the phone, firing about 16 more shots, presumably at others.
After the assailant fled, a distraught woman could be heard in the background.
Chicago police could not comment on the veracity of the video but did tell the New York Daily News that a victim was shot at that intersection on Thursday and is fighting for his life.
Law enforcement told the News that the victim, a known gang member, sustained several gunshot wounds and is in critical condition.
The source said the attacker approached on foot before getting away in a car.
