At least two Americans died in the Brussels Islamic terrorist attacks that shook the world earlier this week.

New York brother and sister Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski were confirmed dead by family members following the bombing at a Brussels airport, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

The brother and sister were reportedly on the phone with their mother who was in the U.S. when the first explosions went off inside the Brussels airport. The phone line went dead.

Alexander was engaged to Cameron Cain, the daughter of former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark James Cain.

The ambassador released this statement on behalf of the Pinczowski family:

“We received confirmation this morning from Belgian Authorities and the Dutch Embassy of the positive identification of the remains of Alexander and Sascha. We are grateful to have closure on this tragic situation, and are thankful for the thoughts and prayers from all. The family is in the process of making arrangements,” the statement said.

While 34 people were killed and over 270 injured in the Brussels terrorist attacks, President Obama was on a controversial trip in Cuba where he sat enjoying a baseball game.

After receiving word of the attacks, Obama continued his schedule as planned in Cuba to attend the baseball game while the U.S. followed breaking news on the largest terrorist attack since the Paris attacks.
