How alpha-Trump’s BLUNT response to Brussels attack compares to other candidates

Following the horrific terrorist attacks in Brussels on Tuesday, Donald Trump said it’s time to take the gloves off.

Not soon forgotten, Trump lamented how beautiful Brussels was and what has become of it, according to him.

His remarks, which appeared on several morning talks shows, was followed by a statement on social media by Sen. Ted Cruz.

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Trump said it was time to “shut the borders” to the U.S.

“I would close up our borders until we figure out what is going on,” he said.

“Look at Brussels, look at Paris, look at so many cities that were great cities,” he said. “Paris is almost as bad. Paris is no longer the City of Lights, Paris has a lot of problems. All you have to do is speak to the people who live there where the same thing has happened and they are in fear. The city is in fear. And we have to be smart in the United States.”

He repeated that sentiment to the “Today Show” and added that he would like to see waterboarding brought back.

“I would say they should be able to do whatever they have to do to get the information,” the Republican presidential front-runner said.

“Waterboarding, if it was up to me and we changed the laws, would be fine,” Trump continued. “If they could expand the laws I would do a lot more than waterboarding. You have to get the information from these people, we have to be smart and we have to be tough and we cant be soft and weak which is what we are now.”

Asked if he was among those who believe torture works, he replied, “Yes I am.”

Not quite finished, Trump called in to “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo” and repeated his call to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. and for closer monitoring of Muslims already in America.

“We need surveillance. You need to deal with the mosques, whether you like it or not. We have to be smart, we have to be vigilant,” he said.

“I mean these attacks aren’t done by Swedish people. We have to be smart. We have to be vigilant. We have to watch very closely what’s going on,” he added.

Some on social media wondered where Ted Cruz’s comments were as Trump had already made the rounds.

Cruz answered those questions around 9:00 a.m. when he issued a statement on his Facebook page.

Our hearts break for the men and women of Brussels this morning. Make no mistake — these terror attacks are no isolated…
