Anyone with half a brain cell knows that if a building becomes overcrowded, it makes for a very dangerous situation: Add copious amounts of alcohol and you’ve got a real problem.

But one opportunistic DJ working an overcrowded bar didn’t exactly help police when they were called in by the fire captain to do their jobs, Mass Live reported.

DJ Kashawn Harris, 25, played gangsta rap group N.W.A’s “F**k the police” as Westfield police entered the aptly named Shenanigans Pub last fall.

The story has resurfaced as Harris was recently fined for his actions.

“I believed at that time, the combination of alcohol, the excessive amount of people in the bar and the song that the DJ chose to play at that time was an intentional act by the DJ to incite the crowd which showed a reckless disregard for public safety,” Officer Juanita Mejias wrote in a report.

The officer had been trying to shut off the music in order to clear the crowd of over 350 people in a space with a 160 capacity, according to Mass Live.

Not exactly a safe situation if a fight, or God forbid a fire, broke out.

Harris maintains that the music was already cued and the incident was nothing more than a matter of unfortunate timing.

“I had no intention of inciting a riot,” Harris said, who typically plays at weddings and college events, according to Mass Live. “It was just college kids having fun.”

“For them to even think I was trying to start riots was frustrating for me. That’s not my kind of background, that’s not where I come from.”

Mejias is not buying it and maintained that the song was played after the officers were trying to establish order in the chaotic bar.

“While in the bar I could hear glass being broken,” Mejias wrote. “I observed shards of broken beer bottles on the ground as well as liquid causing a dangerous slippery condition on the floor.”

Harris will walk away with a slap on the wrist in the form of a $50 fine, according to Mass Live.

Hopefully, after all the negative media attention, he may think twice before playing the cop-hating song.
